Benedict of Nursia (480-547 AD), through his rules, provided the monastic tradition
in Europe with a standard that is marked by wise temperance and a timeless spirituality.
These rules name hours of prayer and labor. Prayer has priority. We nuns congregate
daily at given times for prayer, in oder to always and everywhere stay connected
with Christ, and also to bear witness of him to the world.
